Dawnwood Staff All Stars

  • Gramma Nancy

Have you met our Gramma? Her name is Gramma Nancy. She has been working here for about 5 years now. We would like to share some things with you about Gramma Nancy. She loves working here because she really enjoys seeing the children and all the nice teachers. She says there is nothing she really doesn’t like about working here because she is, “really happy here.” She is happy about being called our Gramma here because she feels as though she is that to all the kids. At home she likes to play with her dog, watch some TV and clean her house. Her favorite food is macaroni and her favorite snack is ice cream. Gramma Nancy’s favorite holiday is Christmas. She enjoys reading and her favorite genres are: history about different countries and romance. She would like to leave this interview with one piece of advice for students: "Be the best you can be and enjoy yourself.” Wise words. If you get a chance, stop by to see Gramma Nancy. She would love to chat. She sits at the desk near the gym at the end of the 6th grade hallway after 11 am.

Caught Being Awesome

  • Sending a big shout out to Nick Maratto! Nick is a sixth grader in Ms Kanenberg's class who opened up his chess game to another student so they could be a part of the fun. Nick's inclusiveness is an example of a model student and an amazing human being. Everyone wants to be a part of something and Nick did just that today. He made someone feel that they belonged and what better feeling could there be? Way to lead by example, Nick!

Judah Holohan was caught being awesome by helping his fellow student ( Anthony Cortes) to get onto his Chromebook Apps. He didn't just show him how to get on but helped him to make it easier for him to get on all of the time and not have to struggle. Being kind costs nothing, but  gives the greatest payout. Thank you Judah for taking your time to help someone. You are an inspiration to all.
