Dianne Picone, Ed.D - Assistant Principal Centereach High School
I hold a BA in English from SUNY Albany; a MS in Special Education from LIU C.W. Post; and a CAS, PD, and Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Hofstra University. With over 25 years in education as a teacher, administrator, and college instructor, I have been a part of the growing educational programs designed to reach the high standards of education needed to afford students optimal opportunities for success in both higher education and employment.
My experiences as an educator and my studies in theory and practice have honed my skills in pedagogy, communication, and human resources. I stand on a platform of consistent practice and operate out of the best interest of children first. Despite the balancing act of service to the competing constituencies, this platform has served as a base and anchor. It reminds me why I do what I do. I believe in quality public education for all students and believe that we as educational leaders can fold our personal agendas into the greater goal and collaborate toward improving our posterity. In a changing world, public schools and educators must remain steadfast to the belief that by unlocking the potential in our children and helping them develop as individuals, we will enhance our society.
