    Mr. Bernardino first joined our Middle Country community in 7th grade as a student at Selden Middle School, and is a proud alumnus of Centereach High School’s Class of 1998. He holds a B.A. in French and a B.A. in International Relations, along with a minor in Political Science from the State University of New York College at Geneseo, followed by a master’s degree from Stony Brook University, and an advanced certificate in School Building Leadership from Dowling College.  He is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership at LIU Post.

    Mr. Bernardino began his teaching career at Centereach High School in 2002, as a teacher of French and most recently was assistant principal at Dawnwood Middle School.  He has served as Dean of Students, Team Leader and Chairperson of World Languages NHS/SMS, in addition to numerous school, district, community and professional organizations. He was the recipient of the PTA/Jenkins Memorial award and Middle Country’s SPARC Award-Quiet Hero for his extensive involvement in our community.

    Mr. Bernardino strives to challenge himself, to always remember that learning is a life-long process and to share that love and passion with others, especially our youngest learners.  He has consistently provided a challenging and supportive learning environment for students, engaged and empowered our teachers and cultivated collaborative partnerships with stakeholders. He is excited for the opportunity to use these skills for the betterment of our community as principal of Eugene Auer and work to bring out the best in our students and teachers.
