Peter Desjardins – Coordinator of District Data Services

  • Peter Desjardins Peter Desjardins is a second generation educator who grew up in Smithtown and graduated from Smithtown High School West. He earned his first degree in Computer Technology from Suffolk County Community College. Mr. Desjardins graduated Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a BA in Social Science education and earned a Masters in Liberal Arts from the same institution. He attended St. John’s University to complete his Administrative Certificate. 
    As a Social Studies teacher, Mr. Desjardins taught in the Alternative High School for Nassau BOCES. There, he was working with students who were at risk of not graduating high school. He changed direction and joined Eastern Suffolk BOCES as a Student Data Expert. This gave Mr. Desjardins the opportunity to work with administrators and teachers to utilize student data to inform instruction.
    Mr. Desjardins is very excited and proud to be working in the Middle Country Central School District. He will be promoting the use of data to help teachers give their students more individualized instruction and make an already great education even better.
