Amy Pacifico - Coordinator of World Studies K-12
Mrs. Pacifico is excited to join the Middle Country Central School District as the K-12 Coordinator of World Studies where she will have the opportunity to support the work of teachers as they seek to engage students in their journey towards becoming informed and active citizens. This work includes not only providing for a comprehensive study of history and the social sciences, but also an emphasis on student inquiry, collaboration, literacy, and research. In that effort, Mrs. Pacifico is likewise eager to work with the district’s library media specialists to support students in their research.
Prior to her appointment in Middle Country, Mrs. Pacifico had the privilege of teaching students in the Valley Stream Central High School District for fifteen years. In addition, for seven of those years, she served as the Social Studies department chairperson in two of the district’s schools, Central High School and Memorial Junior High School.
Mrs. Pacifico earned her BA in American Studies from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts and her MAT in Social Studies and an advanced graduate certificate in School District Administration from SUNY Stony Brook.
