Prior to this appointment, Ms. Ferrera was the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Coordinator.  Ms. Ferrera’s early childhood educational experience is varied.  She was the Director of Child Care, Head Start and Early Head Start Programs.  Before her role as Director, Ms. Ferrera taught pre-school as well as early elementary school and has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 30 years.  Ms. Ferrera holds a Master’s Degree in Education and Family Studies, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and holds permanent NYS certifications in Teaching N-6 and School District Administration.  Ms. Ferrera is a member of several educational associations, including NAEYC.  She is extremely dedicated and involved in the field of Early Childhood Educations and believes that a strong foundation for school success starts with parent involvement and inspiring the joy of learning.
