Deborah B. Wolfe - Principal Unity Drive PreK/K Center
Ms. Wolfe is the Principal of Unity Drive Pre-K/Kindergarten Center. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Wolfe was the Associate for the Universal Prekindergarten Program and taught first and third grades at Jericho Elementary School. Before coming to New York, Ms. Wolfe was a teacher for two years in Wellington, New Zealand.
Ms. Wolfe has a Bachelors degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Southern California. She has a Masters degree from Northwestern University in Language and Learning and a Graduate Certificate in School District Administration from Stony Brook University. Ms. Wolfe received a District SPARC Award for Distinguished Service, a National Promising Practice Award from the Character Education Partnership in Washington, D.C., and was selected by Newsday for the Winner’s Circle Recognition. For six years, Ms. Wolfe served on the Executive Board for the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children. Currently, she is a member of WinningBeginning New York, the Early Years Institute Pre-K/Kindergarten Leadership Committee, and QUALITYstarsNY for Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Wolfe is a regular presenter at the New York State Association for the Education of Young Children Annual Conference. Recent presentations include: “Learning through Play and the NY State Common Core Standards,” “Using Technology to Support the Learning and Development of Young Children,” and “Putting Parenting Research into Practice.”
