What is Google Cast for Education?
Google Cast for Education is a free Chrome extension that allows students and teachers to share their screens wirelessly from anywhere in the classroom. Cast for Education carries video and audio across Wi-Fi school networks, has access controls for teachers, and works seamlessly with Google Classroom.
How it works
The teacher sets up Cast for Education on their computer that’s connected to the classroom projector. The teacher then invites a student to cast their screen. The student casts their screen to the teacher’s computer. The teacher can then project the screen to the class.
Get Started with Google Cast for Education
To use Google Cast for Education, you need the latest Chrome browser on both the machine you'll be casting to (the receiver) and the machine you'll be casting from. The Google Cast for Education extension should already be installed for teachers on every Chrome browser that you log into with your district credentials.
Make sure that you are signed into the computer and Google Chrome on the computer connected to your SMART Board. You must first setup your computer to be a receiver before trying to cast to it from a Chromebook.
