Although similiar in some aspects, Apps and Extensions are two different things. Apps in Google’s world are usually just links to their websites, although occasionally there is more to them. Extensions are browser add-ons that load every time you open the browser.  Each time one is added, it incrementally slows down the Chromebook/browser.

With that said, the district pushes apps and extensions to district Chromebooks and to Google Chrome when a user logs in using their @mccsd.net credentials.
