Jonathan Silkowitz – Assistant Principal Selden Middle School

  • Jonathan SilkowitzMr. Jonathan Silkowitz grew up on Long Island and graduated from Lawrence High School.  After attending the University at Albany, Mr. Silkowitz earned his graduate degree in Secondary Education from Long Island University C.W. Post Campus and his graduate degree in Educational Administration from Touro College.  Mr. Silkowitz is presently pursuing his Doctoral Degree from Concordia University.

    After many years of teaching eighth grade English, Mr. Silkowitz was a Dean of Students and an Assistant Principal in the New York City school system.  As a teacher, Mr. Silkowitz was actively involved with student life serving as a lacrosse coach and advisor to various clubs while spending summers as a day camp division leader.  As a school leader, Mr. Silkowitz continues to be involved in the life of the school community while working with students to reach their potential.  Mr. Silkowitz has two daughters and can often be found cheering for them alongside his wife on softball fields all over Long Island.

    With years of experience and a deep understanding of the needs of middle school students, Mr. Silkowitz is looking forward to collaborating with families and joining a strong team of educators at Selden Middle School.
