2024 Summer School Options

Option 1: In-Person Learning

  • Where:  Centereach High School

    When: July 1th – August 8th (Monday – Thursday)

    Times: Session 1    8:15 am – 10:00 am         Session 2    10:05 am – 11:50 am 

    Cost: Free of charge to district residents (Only available to district residents)

    Courses Offered:

    Science Math Social Studies English
    Algebra 1 Global 2 English 11
    Earth Science   US History

Option 2: Remote Learning

  • Middle Country will once again be using Educere courses for credit recovery during the summer.

    When: Orientation is on Friday, June 28th at 10 am via Meet 

    Deadline to register is Monday, July 1st.  All work must be completed by Wednesday, August 21st.  

    Cost: Varied, but usually $195 per course

    **  Key points for remote learning:

    • Available to all students that failed or were denied credit in a course(s)
    • All Educere courses have a final exam.  An additional Regents Exam may be required for graduation. 
    • All Educere work is self-paced.  Deadline to complete all work and the final is Aug. 21, but students may finish early.  Estimate 2 hours per day to keep pace to finish.

    Students should NOT select that they are an NCAA student.  This forces them to select Original Credit course and prompts a proctored final exam.

Option 3 – In-person learning at BOCES Regional, Bay Shore HS

  • Dates July 8 – August 15, 2024

    Register on July 2, 2024

    Cost: Approx. $336, payable to Bay Shore (check website)

    **  Key points for Summer Credit Recovery:

    • Summer School is only available to students that failed or were denied credit in a course(s)
    • If a student misses 3 classes from MCCSD Summer School, they will be dropped from summer school.
    • No transportation provided to Centereach High School
    • Students may only take 2 courses via in-person instruction.

    *** Students and parents interested in these Credit-Recovery options should contact their Guidance Counselor to discuss and to update their academic plan prior to the end of the school year.

    Students may not take more than 3 classes in total during Summer School, any combination of in-person or virtual classes.
