Parents and Guardians of 8th Grade Students,
This year we will conduct Moving Up Ceremonies for our 8th grade students. The ceremonies will take place in the Dawnwood auditorium. In order to accommodate seating, there will be three Moving Up Ceremonies which will be divided by student last name.
Students with last names from A to Ga will attend Tuesday, June 20th at 1pm.
Students with last names from Ge to O will be Wednesday, June 21st at 1pm.
Students with last names from P to Z will be Thursday, June 22nd at 1pm.
Due to limited seating please limit the number of student guests to two people. I look forward to seeing you there.
Thank you,

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to let you know that Dawnwood Middle School, along with all other schools in the Middle Country Central School District, will be participating in a school climate survey. Through this survey we hope to gain insight from all members of our school community and incorporate these into our ongoing planning. The survey will be open from Wednesday, March 15th through Friday, March 31st and will take about 15 minutes to complete.
You are invited to access the parent/guardian survey using any computer, tablet or smartphone by visiting the district website: www.mccsd.net, and clicking the link “School Climate Survey – Parents/Guardians.”
Sometime during the survey dates, students in grades 3-12 and teachers will also be invited to complete versions of this school climate survey. Student participation in the survey is voluntary, but we hope you will encourage your child to share their opinions with us as part of our ongoing efforts at improving all aspects of their school experience.
All survey responses will be treated as strictly confidential.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Thank you,
Dan Katchihtes
