We have identified user accounts that are using network storage space that is in multiples of what the average user uses. With over 1,600 employees, and 11,000 students, storage costs the district incredible amounts of money, therefore we must limit the amount of network space we can allot to each user.
So we ask the question … “Are you a space hog?” To answer this you need to need to look at what you have saved. Most don’t realize how much space they are actually using. Certain files take up more space than needed because of the way they are saved.
Below is a list of the most common problem file types and suggestions for the fastest and easiest way to condense and clean them up.
- Downloads Folder
- SMART Notebook files - optimize SMART Notebook files to decrease file size
- Digital Pictures - file types include .gif,.jpeg or .jpg, .bmp,.tiff, and .png
- Microsoft Office Documents Containing Pictures - Powerpoint Presentations, Word Doc., etc.
