Updated Quarantine and Isolation Information for Students - January 9, 2022
The Suffolk County Department of Health (SCDHS) has updated their guidance regarding quarantining and isolation for students.
For students who tested positive and are isolating, the isolation period has been reduced from 10 days to 5 days.
- Symptoms must be gone or improving.
For students who have been a close contact of a positive case and are quarantining, the quarantine period depends on vaccination status.
- If your child is fully vaccinated (boosted, or completed the primary series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine within the last 6 months or completed the primary series of J&J vaccine within the last 2 months, they do NOT need to quarantine.
- If your child is not fully vaccinated (see above), the quarantine period has been reduced from 10 days to 5 days.
Please note that if your child is presently isolated or quarantined, please follow the above to determine when either ends.
