Suffolk County Tick-Bite Prevention Education Campaign
Summer is fast approaching and with increased outdoor activity during warm weather, children are particularly at risk of tick bites, which can cause tick-borne diseases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) promotes educational programs to reduce the risk of tick bites and tick-borne diseases.
In order to address this issue, Suffolk County Department of Health Services is conducting a Tick Bite Prevention Education Campaign targeting school-age children at camps, summer programs, beaches and parks. This campaign is intended to inform young people about preventive measures they can take to reduce the risk of tick bites.
