Middle Country Students - Voices Heard by Suffolk Legislature

Middle Country Students Logan Mazer, Dora John, Isabella Fiore, Gabriella Fiore, Chase Millwater, Aasima Mujtaba, Danny Vasquez, David Stein and Thalia Cordero, along with Dawn Sharrock, BOE 2nd VP/Legislative Council Chairperson, Stephanie Larkin, District Clerk and Dr. Diana Cook, Director, joined our neighboring School District Longwood at the Suffolk County Public Safety Meeting at the Suffolk County Legislative offices today. Our legislative committees combined and brought students to advocate for stop arm cameras on school buses. We are proud to say our teams powerful statements helped to have the motion carried and the proposed legislation will now go before the entire legislature on November 26, 2019 for a vote! It was such an important lesson in seeing our local government at work and in having our voices heard. We also had the honor to participate in a Flag Raising Ceremony honoring our Veterans.
