 NHS DECA Winners

On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, Newfield's DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Chapter attended the DECA regional competition at Suffolk County Community College.  Many high schools across Suffolk County competed in various events such as accounting, marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

DECA is an international organization for both high school and college students and focuses on introducing entrepreneurial and professionally so they become community oriented, competent, and responsible leaders.  One way DECA prepares students is to administer competitions where students demonstrate their skills and knowledge they would use in real-world settings specific to their chosen career.

It is an honor to congratulate the following students who won in the 2020 regional competition:

Eeman Jawad - Principles of Finance

Kristina Aguirre - Principles of Hospitality and Tourism

Vincent Robitaille - Entrepreneurship

Abu Kalam - Hotel and Restaurant Management

Angelina Anastasio - Restaurant and Food Service Management

Izabella Halkas and Jenna Saif - Job Interview

Once again, congratulations!  Thank you to all who participated.

Joining DECA is an awesome opportunity that can provide career and technical educaiton students with a brighter future.
