Dawnwood and Selden Students Complete History Day Projects

Eight grade students at Dawnwood and Selden Middle Schools created research projects in their ELA and social studies classes using the theme and model of the National History Day Program. This research project is part of the district’s capstone research initiative. Many students also worked with their National History Day advisers, Ms. Strong at Dawnwood and Ms. Lowe at Selden Middle School, to further develop their research.

In lieu of a research symposium due to Covid restrictions, the advisers created a virtual gallery to highlight the work of students who demonstrated exemplary effort and interest in their projects.

Lastly, we want to congratulate Diya John (Selden Middle School), Addison Rothwell (Selden Middle School), and Zachary Voskinarian (Dawnwood Middle School) who are participating in this year’s virtual Long Island History Day competition hosted by Hofstra University.

Best of luck to our historians!
