Any student or non-student found to be in possession of nuisance material, paraphernalia or contraband as defined by Local Law No. 7-1999, within 1,000 feet of school property, may be subject to an administrative hearing conducted by the Suffolk County Department of Probation. If after such hearing, it is determined that the individual committed an act prohibited by Local Law 7-1999, the individual and the parent or legal guardian of the individual may be liable for a fine up to $500. The individual may also be required to perform up to 100 hours of community service. Additionally, civil penalties may be imposed of up to $2,500.
