Security

The District assigns personnel to the buildings 24 hours a day.  A number of patrol cars with two-way radios monitor school grounds and report regularly to a base station.  These patrols work closely with the Suffolk County Police and the custodial staff at each of the schools.  Additional security guards are assigned to the elementary and secondary schools during the day and on weekends. Our elementary schools are equipped with door security systems, security cameras, and security guards.

District residents can help prevent vandalism by driving by the schools on their way to and from home  and reporting suspicious activities.

COMMUNITY MEMBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT ANY UNUSUAL OR SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY BY CALLING THE DISTRICT'S SECURITY OFFICE at (631) 285-8830 when school is in session. When school is not in session call (866)818-6200.
